97.7 the Beach is moving to a new location

Bayshore Broad      Press Release From Deb Shaw, Bayshore Broadcasting.
As I am sure you can appreciate radio stations have specific requirements.  Our owner was approached by real estate and shown a building on Highway 26 (outside the Wasaga Beach boundry) that was built specifically for the purpose of broadcast. A building perfectly suited for our needs. A building that will allow us to grow and to better serve the entire Southern Georgian Bay region. This was a business decision, a decision that allows us to grow in order to help our advertisers do the same.
While it is true that we have outgrown our space on Mosley it is not true that will be changing our name or our focus.

I want to assure you that Wasaga Beach is not losing 97.7 the Beach. We will still be broadcasting from our tower located in the Sports Park in Wasaga Beach. We will still be involved in all activities and events in Wasaga Beach. We will still be the local news voice for Wasaga Beach.
The studio is just where our people work, it is not the station. A radio station is what it delivers over the airwaves. It is its people and community involvement that’s important. None of that is changing. We are 97.7 the Beach

Lions Clubs Are Helping In Japan

Lions International Fuindation

I am sure you are all equally shocked with the news of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. I could have never imagined that I would be traveling home  from Christchurch, where I witnessed devastation, only to now experience the extraordinary dimension of thwirfsis disaster.
Lions, we respond immediately, alongside our fellow Lions of Japan. Within hours of the disaster, Lions Clubs International Foundation committed over US$1.25 million, or 100 million Japanese Yen, for immediate relief for Japan. This includes a major catastrophe grant, six emergency grants and designated donations from Lions worldwide. We have also established a designated fund for Lions to directly support this disaster.
But, I appeal to you - we need to do more. You know firsthand that in the case of disasters, we Lions are committed for as long as it takes. "We Serve" does not stop at a community or country border but extends to every corner where there is need. Our hands are building bridges for a better tomorrow.
Lions, I ask for your help in making the hope for a brighter tomorrow for those who so urgently need from us. The most immediate way to give hope is through a designated donation to LCIF.
Your financial support of Your Foundation for earthquake and tsunami relief is critical in  meeting the immediate and long terms needs of the most vulnerable families. Please consider supporting LCIF for this initiative and being a part of building that bridge of hope for those who are suffering. Visit www.lcif.org/donate to make your donation today.
With cordial regards,
Eberhard J. Wirfs
Chairperson, Lions Clubs International Foundation

Pay Attention to Your Friends

shake-hands

The Harvard Business Review printed these sage words from Jodi Glickman. One of the biggest mistakes people make is failure to follow up after receiving a favour.
When someone gives you advice or introduces you to a potential client, be sure to report back what happened. Close the loop by sharing the outcome even if it is bad news. The person may be able to further help with another introduction or suggestion.
Many times when you do someone a favour, you never hear back and that encourages not repeating favours. Pay attention to your friends!

Roll Up The Rim

Now if a friend should buy you a “Roll Up The Rim” coffee at Tim Hortons and you win a car…I’m sure that because your friend bought you the coffee you would say “you bought the coffee, it’s your car”. Right? Wrong?
